The row of photos show the stone pine forest Tamangur

The God da Tamangur, as it is called in Romance, is in the Val S-charl near Scuol in the Lower Engadine at 2322 meters above sea level, and is said to be the highest stone pine forest in Europe. Since the summer of 2007 the God da Tamangur is a forest reserve. Here one is not allowed to cut down trees or remove wood from the forest. Nature and quietude must be respected.

Stephan Schenk took this row of pictures in 2004.

Have you noticed, that it does not matter where you start joining the row together? The artist took the photos at 360°, which means he shot the whole scene surrounding him continuously in one go.

Stephan Schenk was born in Germany in 1962 and now lives in Lüen. He is a trained photographer. He is very interested in his environment. In his work we can again and again find views onto landscapes. He portrays that which interests him and what surrounds him. That can be in the city, in the countryside, in the forest, in the mountains or by the sea.
