Ever since his artistic beginnings around 1970, Roman Signer has often developed his ideas concerning actions and installations on notepaper, envelopes or slips of paper. Over time many of these project ideas were realised, sometimes not until years later. Based on these sketches some works were prepared by means of detailed project drawings, others were realised directly.
Over the past years Roman Signer has paid increased attention to these sketches and has partly integrated them in exhibitions. For the first time they are now the focus of an exhibition at the Art Museum Graubünden Chur and convey a retrospective overview of Roman Signer’s works of the last 50 years. In parallel two new installations by the artist are presented.
